Wednesday News Letter

January 10, 2018

Dear Families,

R. (2) For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

Blessed the people who know the joyful shout;

in the light of your countenance, O LORD, they walk.

At your name they rejoice all the day,

and through your justice they are exalted.

R. For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

For you are the splendor of their strength,

and by your favor our horn is exalted.

For to the LORD belongs our shield,

and to the Holy One of Israel, our King.

R. For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.

As I was reading this psalm this morning, I could not help but think of your children. They are the embodiment of the Lord, and His goodness and joy shine through their life. As life brings us the many challenges of our everyday existence, it can be in the smile of a child that we are reminded of God’s light. This week I walked into a classroom and asked the students where they saw kindness and goodness in their lives. The first student to raise their hand told me a story of compassion they had seen one of their classmates carry out for another. It was so incredible to hear the act of kindness acknowledged by another student. It is in these comments, actions, and thoughts that we are reminded of the Lord’s presence in our life.
