Saint Olaf Catholic School

Wednesday News Letter

March 22, 2017

Dear Parents,

*Welcome back to school!  I hope you enjoyed the last week with your children.  We are happy to have them all back at school.

*Report cards went home yesterday.  Please sign and return your child’s report card or signature cover.

*Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week (March 27-31) to Saint Olaf McNamara Center!  Mrs. Dorich is still in need  of volunteers to help out.  Interested volunteers can call the school to set up times/days to work. You are all welcome to shop, browse, or visit the Book Fair anytime.  Please see the enclosed flyer for hours of operation.  If you love your teacher….remember you can thank them with a book!  They LOVE books!

*I don’t know if you have had the pleasure of experiencing our Saint Olaf Live Stations of the Cross.  It is a very moving presentation acted out by our combined Parish and School Youth.  The Stations will take place on Good Friday.  We hope you have the opportunity to experience it.  Mrs. Romney coordinates this event. We are still in need of several teen and tween aged volunteers.  If your child is interested in acting in our live stations please let Mrs. Romney ( know as soon as possible.

*Thank you to all who have donated food for the “No Hungry Children Pantry Packs”!  Remember any class that has 100% participation will earn an extra recess with ME!  I think that is a way cool treat!

*Mrs. Saccani and Ms. Karen from the American Heart Association met with all of the students yesterday to talk about “How to be Heart Healthy.”  Students watched a wonderful program that explained how we should be physically active, avoid sugary beverages, eat more veggies, watch out for salt, and avoid tobacco.  Ask your kids, they know!  The school has decided to hold a fundraising blitz for two weeks.  At the end of two weeks they will have a Jump-ropeathon at the school (April 4th).  We have a school-wide goal of raising $1500 for the American Heart Association. You can ask friends and family for donations or you can solicit donations from far away family online at  Follow directions on the form.  Don’t forget to complete the Pink Heart (included in the packet) and return it to school.  We will hang it in the hallways of the school. Please note, some of the packets will not go home until today.

*This is a reminder that your EDP Bills are now past due.

*The office has been keeping track of your service hours recorded on the back of your Brown Envelopes.  This is a friendly reminder that 30 hours are due by the end of the school year.  Letters are enclosed in your envelope.

*Our SEP conferences will be held Thursday, April 6th and Tuesday, April 11th.  Please call the office no earlier than 8:52am tomorrow (Thursday) to schedule your appointments.  *Please note, in order to accommodate her large class size, Mrs. Hamilton will offer some early morning conferences.

*Many of our students will join the Parish Youth Group and Parish Religious Education to participate in our bi-annual Youth Mass.  This Mass will take place on Sunday at 11:30. Please join us!
