NCEA podcast: Celebrating Great Principals with Domenic Franconi and Simon McFall

We wish everyone a blessed Advent Season. As we begin the Advent season today, we light the candle representing "𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘." Advent is a time for preparation and expectant Hope. Throughout Advent our students and staff will prepare for the coming of Christ with daily practices of devotion. This week we will observe the following practices:

Carline Food Drive for the Bountiful Food Bank during the week of November 16th -20th. Drop off non perishable items in carline. Most needed items include: baking supplies like flour, sugar, and mixes of all kinds, cereal, peanut butter, cat & dog food, canned fruits and veggies.

In conjunction with Veterans Day, our Casual For A Cause in November will be for the Fisher House in Salt Lake City. For a $3 donation students can wear free dress on Wednesday, November 11th.

Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin.  God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off.

He opens you up, touches you deep inside, and scoops out all the yucky stuff – including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.   Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see!

As a reminder, today, October 15th, is the last day that your student can wear shorts, t-shirts and polo dresses until the 4th quarter. Beginning Monday, October 19th, pants, oxfords, polos and sweaters may be worn. In addition, students will need jackets.

As we continue the month of October, let us renew our devotion to Our Lady of the Rosary — reflecting on its origins saving nations and individuals in times of conflict and despair.

October's Casual for a Cause is this Wednesday, October 14th. Students may donate $3 to wear non-uniform school appropriate clothes for the day. All money will be donated to the Adopt-a-Meal Program at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Primary Children’s Hospital provided by one of our parishioners, Bonnie. Her family story is why we are so passionate about donating to this cause that is near and dear to her heart. (click to read more)

Saint Olaf Catholic School recently received a gift of an architectural steel, Celtic style mission cross. A mission cross is placed where the gospel is actively preached. This cross was designed and fabricated at Structural Steel & Plate Fabrication by company co-owner Shane Dean, a current parent at Saint Olaf. We are amazed and blessed by the talents of those in our community and wish to publicly thank the entire Dean Family for this generous and beautiful work of art. As we dreamed of the many campus improvements through our on-going Capital Campaign we envisioned a mission cross symbolizing the Catholic faith, dedication, and Christ-like values taught and lived at the school. The Saint Olaf community sends our heartfelt gratitude to the Dean Family!
